Our undergraduate placement programme Our engineering undergraduate placement programme provides work placements for periods that vary in duration from a few weeks to six months or more. Many undergraduates who come to us in the summer break return every year. Others join us for long periods in their gap year. We aim to provide good overall knowledge of the industry and we involve our placement students in as many aspects of our business as we can.
The office environment is very friendly and sociable and there are plenty of activities and sports events. In our London office we organise regular talks, open to all staff. Placement students are also offered a walking tour round London led by a senior director. Accommodation may be arranged for undergraduates joining us for summer work placements in London.

CIARAN'S STORY ....
"It seemed like engineers are the people who know how things work. And you can do good volunteer work with civil engineering — before I came here, I saw that Ramboll UK is involved in a project to build a library in Africa and I thought, that's quite cool."
A summer placement with us helped Cíaran, 20, make his final subject choice before going into the third year of an engineering degree at the University of Cambridge. He'd taken mechanical engineering and architecture courses as part of his education, but felt his work with us opened up wider horizons.
