Dan Harvey is Executive Director of Ramboll UK, representing the Environmental and Transport Markets at Board level. He joined WhitbyBird (now Ramboll) in 1998, became an Associate Director in 2004, a Director in 2007 and Executive Director in 2010.
As a member of the Executive Board, Dan develops strategy and drives the commercial side of the Environmental & Transport markets. He has extensive experience delivering projects both in the UK and internationally.
Dan has overall responsibility for the Environment & Specialisms groups as well as the Civils and Highways group. These groups cover a wide range of disciplines; from environmental consulting, ecology, hydrology, archaeology, geotechnics and acoustics through to aviation, transport planning, highway and bridge design. He oversees the technical quality and financial performance of the teams as well as the group’s development and growth into new markets.
The scope of services he represents reflects his wide-ranging experience of all aspects of built environment from master planning to detailed design and his thorough understanding of the associated requirements. Dan is emphatic about the importance of a truly multidisciplinary approach in achieving infrastructure design that is robust, sustainable and best value for clients and users.
At executive level Dan is also responsible for the Project Support Team that overseas Quality Assurance and Technical Excellence across the UK. This draws on IT and engineering skills around the business to see where technology can enhance ways of working to improve the service we provide.
For the whole Ramboll Group, Dan chairs the masterplanning network, developing corporate best practice and disseminating inter-group knowledge across Scandinavia, Europe and the Middle East.
From 2012 to 2014, Dan was Chairman of the Institution of Civil Engineers London Region representing 8,000 members in the capital, and is regularly called on to give talks, chair debates and act as a judge for engineering competitions. He also acts as Supervising Civil Engineer for qualifying graduates.
Akbulak Club Resort is a luxury leisure complex resort located in the south east of Kazakhstan, approximately 50km east of the former capital Almaty. The proposed development is laid over 980 hectares on a greenfield site, located at the foothills of the Tian Shan mountain range, which separates Kazakhstan and China. Assessments, provided by Ramboll, included information that could be used to forecast costs, enabling our client to consider possible phasing options.
