Simon Groves

Simon Groves joined the practice in 1988, becoming an Associate in 1992 and a Director in 2000.

Simon is responsible for overseeing the work of Ramboll UK in the London region. His focus is on commercial, residential and arts projects, and airport buildings. He led our successful bid for a BAA 2nd Generation framework agreement for structural engineering and now heads the dedicated design team.

His design successes integrate technical innovation and a clear understanding of the financial implications
of alternative solutions.

Through design reviews and the development of project-specific client and contractor feedback processes,
he ensures that buildability issues are addressed both at the strategic level of foundation and frame design and in relation to details. This generates added value on projects where successive buildings are developed.

Simon contributes to the continued development of Group Quality Management systems.
