The Academy of Urbanism 'Future of Urbanism'
The 10th congress will anticipate the future direction of our cities and the lives of their citizens. Ideas, innovations and adaptations for the future of cities will be discussed, focussing on how pressurised world cities can evolve over the coming decades, whilst remaining both competitive and liveable. Ramboll technical seminar 'Shaping the digital future'
Ramboll experts Graham Stewart
and Ian van Duivenbode will be presenting at Ramboll’s technical seminar ‘Shaping the digital future’. Ian will discuss Parametric Optimisation and how to comply with the latest revision of the Scottish Building Regulations. With the April 2017 deadline for 'BIM Level 2' in Scotland looming, Graham will provide a pragmatic approach to 'BIM Level 2', describing what do clients need to prepare and what the design teams need to deliver. International Conference on Lightning Protection
Ramboll's Satheesh Jacob
will be presenting the paper 'Lightning protection of a temporary structure in an open area' at the 33rd annual International Conference of Lightning Protection. Approved by the ICLP Scientific Committee, the paper summarises findings from recent research carried out by Ramboll and University of Strathclyde that aims to provide an outline of the lightning protection system strategy for the protection of life, livestock, sensitive equipment and property in open areas. 2nd International Port Infrastructure Conference

is presenting 'Developing passenger terminals to accommodate growing vessel size and maximise customer experience'. Issues include: Examining challenges of dealing with the growing vessel size whilst focusing on achieving a high end user experience; Understanding issues related to vessel size growth vs. end user experience expectations; Analysing methods of merging two sides together to understand the opportunities and pitfalls that may occur on the way; Demonstrating the methodology behind the analysis.

Advanced Building Skins Conference
Ramboll's Mark Pniewski, Head of Façades, and Miriam Butti, Designer Engineer, are due to present a paper on the complex glazed façade of 51-54 Fenchurch Street that completely wraps the building creating a visual and opaque skin. is speaking on 'Managing marine construction risk by design'. Ramboll has a national and international reputation for simplifying and de-risking construction in the marine environment through our design processes. , Head of BIM, will be joining key speakers from Lendlease and Balfour Beatty in the 'BIM Level 3: A strategy for a Digital Built Britain' panel discussion. The discussion forms part of Stream A, titled 'Future London Plans and Sustainability', on day two of the exhibition that focuses exclusively on construction opportunities in London and the South East of England.
