Jarrold Bridge in Norwich city centre will be opened to pedestrians for the first time today. The curved bridge was conceived by Peter Jarrold, former chairman of Jarrold & Sons Ltd, over 20 years ago.

Ramboll and Gifford, Part of Ramboll, had a very successful night at the The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) 2011 Awards held at the Marriott Hotel in London. The MediaCityUK footbridge won an award and two commendations were received for the Open Academy in Norwich and the Bramall Learning Centre.

From 1 January 2012, Gifford director Alan Pauling will take up a new position within Ramboll as group market director of transport. The role will see him prioritise market development and client focus, building on Ramboll’s extensive network and knowledge base within the transport sector.
RIAS has shortlisted Hillhead Primary School in Glasgow for the prestigious Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland 2011 award. Ramboll was appointed as part of the design team by jmarchitects Ltd. and Glasgow City Council to create an enhanced learning environment for over 600 pupils in a woodland habitat. The project brought together four city centre schools and two nursery schools.
Ramboll CEO, Flemming Bligaard Pedersen, has been awarded with the European CEO Award, presented during the European CEO conference in London 9-10 November, arranged by ACE; the British Association of Consulting Engineers. 19 candidates from 13 different countries were nominated.

At the Annual General Meeting in March 2012, Ramboll CEO Flemming Bligaard Pedersen (63) will pass on his responsibilities for the largest Nordic consultancy company to the next generation and a new CEO.
