Land use planning & development
A robust and transparent land administration system is an essential part of national development, particularly when an economy is growing and investment pressures arise. Ramboll is actively involved in all aspects of land administration and supports services such as land-use mapping.
A land administration system or framework includes land legislation, land registration, land valuation/taxation,
land-use planning, land allocation and land information.
Underpinning an effective land administration system is the idea of land tenure, which is important for security — a significant factor in poverty alleviation. Safe tenure of land is also necessary for attracting investment in, for example, industry, agriculture, forestry and tourism. It can also act as an incentive in rural environments for economic and environmentally sound land development. Ramboll has in-depth experience in land tenure issues.
Using an integrated approach, we take environmental factors, such as climate change effects, into account in all our land administration work. Similarly, socio-economic aspects usually set the context for land-use planning. We are strong supporters of the importance of providing public access to services and information relating to land administration.
Our land administration services include:
Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS) and land-use mapping techniques are used to provide up-to-date information for decision-makers and technical staff. Ramboll has the capacity to use and develop GIS and RS applications in most environments.
